First the teacher has to arrange the classroom. Together with the students the teacher moves the tables so there are just two seats per table both facing each other. Then the teacher divides the class into two groups: one group will remain sitting throughout the speaking exercise and the other group will change seats. The teacher gives each student a list of topics such as hobbies, sports, music and family. The students start to talk to each other in pairs and after about two minutes (the teacher can decide how long he or she thinks each pair needs), the teacher tells the second group to move to talk to the next person.
