Nouns Singular - Plural

Singular is a form of the noun that shows that there is only one. 

Example: 
a dog, a girl, a football 

Plural is a form of the noun that shows that there are more than one.

Example: 
two dogs, three girls, four footballs

Mostly you just add s for nouns in plural
Examples
  • football – footballs
  • cup – cups
  • girl - girls
  • flower - flowers
  • sticker – stickers
  • window – windows

For nouns that end with ch, x, s, or s sound you add es.
Examples
  • fox – foxes
  • watch – watches
  • boss - bosses
  • bus – buses

For nouns ending with f or fe you change f to v and add es.
Examples
  • knife – knives
  • life - lives
  • leaf – leaves
  • elf - elves
​For the nouns ending with a consonant + y  you remove the y and add ies.
Examples
  • baby – babies
  • story - stories
  • lady - ladies

For nouns that end with o you add es.
Examples
  • potato – potatoes
  • tomato – tomatoes

A few nouns are the same in singular and plural. 
Examples
  • sheep – sheep
  • deer – deer
  • species – species

There are some irregular formations for noun in plural.
Examples
  • child – children
  • tooth - teeth
  • woman – women
  • man – men
  • mouse – mice
  • goose – geese
