Some and Any

Some
We use some in positive sentences. 

Example: 
You have some friends.

We use some in questions when offering or requesting something.

Example:
Would you like some coffee? (offer)
Could I have some water? (request)

We use some words - somebody, someone, somewhere and something in positive sentences. 

Example: 
The dog is somewhere near here.

Any
We use any in negative sentences or questions.

​Example: 
Do you have any milk?
She doesn't have any friends in Berlin.

We use any words - anybody, anyone, anywhere and anything in negative sentences or questions.

Example: 
Do you know anything about Zlatan?
He doesn't have anywhere to go.
