Verbs in Present Tense

In the third person singular the verb always ends with s.

Examples 
he runs
she works
it rains

I                         run
you                   run
he, she, it         runs

we                     run
you                   run
they                  run

Verbs ending with -y : the third person changes the -y to -ies:

Examples 
fly - flies, cry - cries

I                         cry
you                   cry
he, she, it         cries

we                     cry
you                   cry
they                  cry

Exception: if there is a vowel before the -y

Add -es to verbs ending with: -ss, -x, -ch, -sh,

Examples 
he passes, she catches, he fixes, it pushes
